History

Kamakoti Vidyalaya is renowned to be the infallible pioneer in imparting the Indian School of Certificate Examination Curriculum across the legendary City of Tiruchirapalli. Situated in the heart of the City, it ensures providing a holistic environment offering co-education to the children from LKG to Class X.

Looking back, founded by Padmabhushan Sri N.Ramaswami Ayyar, in the year 1973, this Institution has been a dynamic resource of learning and culture driven for the past five decades. In the past, his untiring efforts to empower the much neglected women education with a focus on modern education and in the walk of our culture and tradition, paved the way for constructing a full-fledged Educational Complex, mainly to establish Savitri Vidyasala Hindu Girls’ Higher Secondary School in the year 1938 and Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College for women in the year 1951.

The intense growth of these educational institutions ignited the need for co-education, much to the expectations of the residents of Trichy. Accordingly, in 1973, Kamakoti Vidyalaya was established, affiliating itself to the esteemed Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination bearing Affiliation No. TN032. Since then, for five decades, the School has been imparting co-education to boys and girls from LKG to X, irrespective of their caste, creed or convention.
